Start with a clear original photo
Choose a picture where the subject is sharp and easy to recognize. The original camera photo is usually a better starting point than a screenshot of a social post. Zoom in before uploading: if the face or vehicle is already blurry, a smaller printed version will not bring back the missing detail.
For pets, look for a clear view of the face, with ears inside the frame. For a person, choose an expression you want to see every day. For a truck or project car, use a photo that includes the whole vehicle if that is what you want on the freshener. Keep important details away from the edges so you have room to choose your crop.
Choose a crop that suits the picture
- Background removed: choose this for a cutout of the subject, such as your dog, a person or a vehicle.
- Head only: choose this when the face is the whole point. Questionable haircut encouraged.
- With background: keep the scene as part of a rectangular photo freshener.
A simple, well-lit photo makes the subject easier to see. Avoid tiny text and crowded group pictures if you want the main subject to stand out. Only upload a photo you own or have permission to use.
Build your custom freshener
- Open Make Your Own and choose one, three or six air fresheners.
- Upload your photo and choose the scent and crop for each freshener.
- Check every selection before adding it to the cart. A pack can include different photos and scents.
- Review your cart and delivery details, then check the shipping charge before placing your order.
Want different photos, scents or crops in a pack? Leave the same-photo option unchecked and complete each item separately. Checking that box repeats the first photo, scent and crop for every freshener.
Custom-photo fresheners use a separate fragrance menu from the nine original designs. Choose from the scents available in the editor.
One custom freshener is $10.99, three are $23.99 and six are $39.99, plus shipping. Each is printed in full color on both sides and individually packaged. Product photos include digital mockups; printed colors can vary from your screen.
Plan ahead if it is a gift
These are made to order. Allow 2–5 business days for production; peak periods may take longer, plus carrier transit. Check our shipping estimates before choosing a gift date. In our experience, scent is strongest during the first two weeks, then gradually fades, with a lighter scent lingering around a month. Duration varies with scent, heat and airflow.
